Somni Vale didn’t start with a business plan. Instead, it began with conversations between two Georgia photographers who felt the same quiet ache and needing of a photography community.
Sarah and I were doing the work we loved—capturing beautiful images, serving our clients well, showing up fully in our craft. But somewhere along the way, we realized we were craving something deeper than just the next styled shoot or perfectly curated feed.
We wanted connection.
We wanted community.
And, most of all, we wanted something that felt honest, life-giving, and rooted in who we actually are.
Both photographers.
Both homeschool moms.
At the same time, both navigating motherhood, creativity, faith, and the desire to build something meaningful—without losing ourselves in the process.

Of course, there’s nothing wrong with beautiful images. In fact, we love beauty. We chase light. We care deeply about aesthetics and storytelling.
Yet, what we didn’t want was shallow connection.
Over time, we noticed how isolating this industry can feel—especially for photographers who don’t quite fit the mold. For example, photographers who value depth over trends, faith over performance, and community over competition. Likewise, women who are raising children, homeschooling, building businesses, and trying to steward their gifts well often feel overlooked.
Because of this, we longed for a photography community in Georgia that felt like a table you could pull a chair up to. One with no pressure to perform and no need to pretend.
Just real people.
Real conversations.
And creativity rooted in intention.

Somni Vale grew slowly and thoughtfully, just like the kind of work we believe in.
It became a space where photographers could gather through styled shoots for photographers that weren’t about copying trends, but about telling stories. Shoots designed to inspire creativity, collaboration, and confidence—not comparison.
A place where photographers could learn, experiment, and grow together without feeling rushed or boxed in.
Where homeschool moms didn’t have to explain their schedules.
Faith didn’t feel awkward or out of place.
Friendship mattered just as much as portfolio growth.
At the heart of Somni Vale is friendship. Sarah and I didn’t set out to build something impressive—we wanted to build something true.
We believe creativity flourishes best in safe spaces.
That photographers thrive when they feel supported.
And we believe community should feel genuine, fun, and deeply human.
Somni Vale exists for photographers who want to grow their craft without hardening their hearts. For creatives who want to learn, collaborate, and be inspired—while staying grounded in who they are and what matters most.
This isn’t about chasing the next big thing.
It’s about building something lasting.
Something honest, intentional, and rooted in connection.
And we’re just getting started.
